Demonstrating English Language Proficiency

1. Are you a senior during the 2023-2024 school year?
   
   • Yes – Next question.
   • No – Sorry, you are not eligible.
2. Are you on track for completing ELA graduation requirements with an overall unweighted GPA of 2.0 or above in those classes?
   
   • Yes – Next question.
   • No – Sorry, you are not eligible.
3. Did you score a “standards met” or above on the 11th Grade ELA CAASPP assessment? 
   • Yes – Keep going!
   • No – Sorry, you are not eligible.
4. Are you labeled as an English learner? 
   • Yes – Next question.
   • No – Go to "Demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English."
5. Did you score an Overall Performance level of 4 “well-developed” on the Summative ELPAC Assessment?
   • Yes – Go to "Demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English."
   • No – Sorry, you are not eligible.

Demonstrating Proficiency in a Language Other Than English

1. Did you pass a foreign language AP exam, with a score of 3 or higher?
   
   • Yes – You are eligible!
   • No – Next question.
2. Did you pass a world language IB exam with a score of 4 or higher?
   
   • Yes – You are eligible!
   • No – You are eligible to take the On-Demand Assessment (See flowchart).

If you are eligible:

• Submit an Application by Friday, September 8, 2023. The application now includes the Intent to Apply, Parent Authorization, and School Verification and may be completed by the student.
• Ask your site representative to verify that you are eligible and to include you on the Student Verification list, if you are eligible. The Student Verification list is submitted by your site representative by Friday, September 8, 2023. 
  
  Once the eligibility criteria is verified, the student and the site representative will be notified. Please expect notifications to be sent out towards the end of October.
